History:
For centuries, Tibetans have been weaving and using carpets as bedding, saddle blankets and mediation mats. Since the occupation of Tibet by China, the Tibetan refugees in Nepal started making living by weaving carpets and selling to the tourists. This carpet weaving cottage industry became one of the biggest foreign exchange earner and employing hundred of thousand of Nepali.
Designs:
The sketches of all designs in the website are available. Most designs are created our own creative, innovative and hard working team.
Custom Designs:
We take great pride in our ability to affect creative and appropriate solutions in design and texture, to your special design needs. We do original concept designing from your submitted fabrics, paper, or sketches. Rendered sketches are mailed for confirmation. Strikeoffs of approved design are produced to meet the requirement customer before actual production.
Materials:
Our primary fiber is wool. We utilize high altitude Tibetan wool and also New Zealand wool. The warp of the carpets is cotton. The other fibers we use are silk, raw silk, hemp.
Textures:
The standard pile texture is plain cut file. The other textures we are specialized are loop and cut, high and low and emboss.
Color:
We custom dye to your color standards. The dye stuff we uses are from Sandoz, and Ceba. A matched pom is submitted for approval.
Washing:
All carpets are washed manually and eco-friendly.
Project:
Making carpets with natural color yarns. Where no dyes stuff used- organic and totally eco-friendly.
